Leapin' Into Decisions

Tonight we stopped by the model home in our neighborhood to meet with our SR and sign a paper that needed editing after we left the night we officially signed the contract. While we were there, we decided to start making some decisions for the exterior of the house and the countertops and cabinets inside.

The exterior selections were easy as we had already talked about what colors we wanted before we decided to build this home. We plan to go with a dark tan/khaki color (don't quite remember what color Ryan calls it) with black shutters and a black front door. We will also have stone work at the bottom portion of the front of the home. The house will also have a right-side driveway and side garage for the home (which is very different from the model picture I placed on here). All of these decisions went quickly.

We had talked about the cabinet colors as well and we plan to have dark brown (Cherry Bordeaux) for all cabinets in the home (kitchen, master bath and hall bath). This is where the "easy" decisions were made. However, we are still not settled on the countertops as we couldn't come to an agreement. We left tonight having made a selection (the Jamocha granite pattern for laminate), but my husband is not settled on it. In fact, I left with my "top two" choices (the Jamocha and the Butterrum) and he claims to not like either. We have about 12 more days to make our decision before they will need to know our decision in order to finalize the purchases and orders for the home.

Contract!

Signed our contract to begin building our home, the Milan, with Ryan Homes. It still hasn't really sunk in yet! Can't wait to see this journey unravel through the next several months.
