Patience is Not One of My Virtues

Ok, let's be honest...I love, love seeing all of the updates and pictures that everyone has posted in these past two weeks. It seems like so many have made such awesome progress! However, if I'm going to stick with this honesty thing, I can't help but feel slightly jealous! Can we call this blog envy??

I know our time will come and seeing such great progress on other blogs is helpful to pass the time, but I can't say that it hasn't made me a little impatient during our waiting period.

Our Guardian meeting last week went really well. My husband and I knew going into it that we were only going to add cable lines into all bedrooms. The rep wasn't pushy and the meeting didn't last longer than 15 minutes. Since we met at the model home in our neighborhood that day, I was hoping to get a picture of our waiting timeline from our SR. However, she wasn't in that day. The next day we stopped by again to sign another document to update the work order to show the additional costs for the added cable lines and instead of our SR , they had the fill-in person we had talked to a few times. She casually mentioned that they moved our SR to another community.

I let a week go by and decided to try e-mailing her to see if that would work as a contact attempt. I received her out-of-office reply saying that she'd be in tomorrow after the holiday weekend. Her name and signature now has this new community name & info under it. It also mentioned the new SR for our community. Yay! A third SR in our 4 months with Ryan so far. I plan to call her later today, introduce myself and see what she knows about our lot. I can't imagine it'll give me any of the info I want- actually all I want to know is when our pre-construction meeting will be.

I know I shouldn't really be complaining, but this waiting game is giving me lots of time to think about it. Hopefully we'll find out something this week!

  3. E waiting as well (you should see me leading up to Christmas...so pitiful!). I *just* posted a very similar post this morning about the woes of waiting.
If it makes you feel any better, you are slightly ahead of us since you've had your Guardian meeting! :)

  5. We signed on September 21st and didn't break ground until February 16th! I know how you feel! The wait is hard, but totally worth it. Keep an eye on the blogs and note things to keep an eye on during the building process. You'll be breaking ground in no time!

  6. This is how I felt while we were waiting. It seemed like EVERYONE was getting their house but me. It reminded me of my first pregnancy.

You will have so much to keep up with to make sure they do everything the way you want that your days will be full.

Take my advice and pack everything now. Live out of suitcases. Donate half your stuff and throw away some stuff, too. Once you move in, donate even more now that you've lived without it for a while and realize how pointless it is. Keep what you love and enjoy it in your new house!

I waited way, way, way too long to pack.
